Veranstaltungsbeschreibung
Being and remaining resistant together – but how? Across borders and turns of time, the multiple experiences of disappointment and injury united almost all social revolutionary movements of the past decades. These processes leave individuals and collectives powerless, exhausted, and angry. Sometimes destructive dynamics emerge that break individual activists or even whole organisations. Today, many activists are confronted with increasing, almost normalised impunity and open destruction of (human) rights-based spaces and/or exiled.
In a world where authoritarian tendencies are creating new resentments and divisions, we want to reflect on these developments from a political and psychosocial perspective. From different contexts, we will discuss strategies that help to come out of the defensive. Sharing stories, listening and reflecting – including looking back at past struggles, for example, in Afghanistan, Lebanon, South Africa or Central America – opens up a space where strength and new ideas for a political approach to these dynamics can emerge.
